I didn't go to any lessons after this until I got a new teacher.

I had a talk with my new teacher about my practicing and how I want to learn, I also learnt how to hold sticks more efficiently.

I learnt how to play a new beat on the drums by changing the bass pattern.

I learnt a new beat changing the bass pattern and I learnt it then I carried on changing it to new drums.

I played in bars of 4 so I could be a deliberate drummer, I did sixteenth off beat, then left hand after, then the first beat, then the second but half way through I have a fill of flams around the kit then hit crash 2. This helped me play more musically.

I used the 4 bars and repeated them. I need to get cymbals and always keep my thumbs up on the stick so they bounce back.

We finished 4 bar loops, I have moved on the making fills and being able to play a fill anywhere in a 4 bar loop by using 1, 2, 3, 4, a, e, and + this allows me to know where I should start a fill, how long it should be and when end the beat.

I made fills and played on the numbers using this:-
1. How many notes in the fill and where to play them?
2. What is the last note in the beat before the fill?
3. Play it.

Carried on the fills and beats. I have my kit at home now so I have been practicing along to music because my fills do not go along with music. I put a extra left in before my fills which I am practicing not to do. I learnt triplet fills.

I made fills and a new beat in the half term and I am learning to leave hands out the fills for a change, and stop putting left hands and a bass drum before fills.

I am learning Cream - Sunshine of your love and I have learnt the beat and the intro fill already, I now need to improve my timing and learn the rest of the fills.

I have learnt the beat to sunshine of your love and improved my timing along to the song, I am using this as a way to learn by ear so I can do this with other songs. This will allow me to be more versatile with what I can play and it will help me if I decide to join a band.

I am learning come as you are until the speakers are fixed in the room so i can do sunshine of your love. I have been given the sheet and I am going to work out some of it, but will probably have to look some of it up on youtube to work it out.

I am learning how to play a bass drum off the hi hat beat so i can play along to get on top by rhcp.

I learnt the beat to rhcp, but i am learning to play it at 115bpm. I am also learning a nirvana, rhcp and ratm song over the summer, i am going to watch some covers and read the notation.

I am learning in bloom from sheet music and it is going well, I can read the music but I just need to speed up my playing which will be improved by my new grip technique as my old one was a bad habit of thumbs sliding off the sticks and palms facing up, I will now be playing with my palms down and thumbs on sticks.
