For the concert as it is in the school I will have to wear school uniform, however if I was to perform outside of school I would dress similarly to Pete Doherty as I too have messy hair, he also can be seen wearing Fred Perry and other casual wear. This is because it is suitable for the genre of music we play.

The majority of songs we play are in the genre of rock which is a has a big variety of styles and subgenres; for example the band ‘Oasis’ can be identified by their messy haircuts, scruffy facial hair and khaki parkas, whilst a ‘The Libertines’ are known for their red military jackets. Although they differ in fashion they are both part of the Brit Pop movement. Jay Kay from the band 'Jamiroquai' is notorious for his quirky hats which make him stand out compared to the rest of his band, it draws the eye towards him and makes him the centre of live performances. He has also used his buffalo hat in his motif used on his album covers which makes him identifiable and gives him a unique quality.

Contrary to Rock, Opera musicians dress smart in suits as the music is played smart venues and events where it is necessary to dress smart and presentable to the audience. Although I will be dressed in my formal school uniform for the event if it were to take place outside of school I would dress in the same style as the artists I have described above. The way that these artists dress reflect in their style of music and interests, for example Jay Kay has an interest in Native American tribes and drew inspiration for the name of his band 'Jamiroquai' from the tribe 'Iroquois' and the he has worn hats resembling a Native American headdress on some occasions.
