What are the the musical goals you want to achieve this year?

• I want to become a strong capable drummer.
• Be able to play with other instruments just as well as I can solo.
• Learn more fills

Are these musical goals new/have they changed from when you first wrote your goals on your blog?

I am progressing and on my way to completing my goals. These are the same goals I have had from the beginning because I have not found anything else musical I would like to achieve. Although I have added that I would like to learn more fills and anything else I am able to pick up throughout playing the drums in music practitioners and learning songs. I would like to be able to play stable and in time along with other instruments to develop me as a musician and develop my musical experiences along with my personal goals.

Do you think you are achieving these goals? What in detail how you think you are/aren't achieving your goals. How do you know?

I think I am because I am making the most of my drum lessons and music lessons, I am practicing in lessons. I have already learnt new fills by learning songs, I have become more confident when playing with others and i feel like i am improving overall as a musician.

Is there anything stopping you from achieving these goals?

At the moment I do not have a full drum kit but soon I will. I don't think it is helping me not having one. I have been to lazy to sort myself out with one. I am getting it sorted out during the easter holidays so I will be playing at home daily after easter.

What do you need to focus on each lesson to achieve these goals?

I need to practice along with other people to use my lessons to the full potential as I do not have a drum kit yet. I can make sure I use my lessons to their full potential by referring back to what makes a good rehearsal sessions for a set of guidelines.

Write five things you need to learn/be taught for you to become the musician you want to become.

1. I need to fix how I hold drum sticks, I need my hands facing down and thumbs on the sticks.
2. I need to vary my playing in order to be a more versatile drummer, this includes my fills and beats that I play on a regular basis.
3. I need to be more efficient at reading music which is improving everyday as I learn from written notation.
4. I need to tweak some of my current beats to improve my overall playing.
5. I need to tweak some of my current fills to add more variety to my playing.
